The Lady with the Two-faced Kitten

"The Lady with a Two-faced Kitten" is copyright 2006 by James G. Mundie. All rights reserved. Reproduction prohibited.

Pen and ink, 8.5 x 6 inches, 2006

Ripped from today's headlines — or at least page five or six. It seems that almost every week another two-faced kitten appears in the news. It's actually quite a rare phenomenon, but when it does happen now the news spreads so rapidly over the Internet that it seems to be increasing in frequency.

Just by sheer coincidence, as I was finishing this drawing yet another two-faced pussycat was all over the news.

This drawing was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's 1485 painting The Lady with an Ermine, in the collection of the Muzeum Czartoryskich in Krakow, Poland.
